Dr. Suchana Marahatta
Associate Prof. Dr. Suchana Marahatta

Dr. Suchana Marahatta completed her MD Dermatology in 2013 from B P Koirala Institute of Health Sciences. She believes on patient-centered, ethical and evidence based care. After 15 years of experience in Dermatology, she realized that it is not possible to have a better skin health without reaching into the heart of community. Limiting our services within the hospital walls are not sufficient to have “Healthy skin for all”. Hence she decided to approach the community through targeted health camps, educational outreach programs, and awareness campaigns. Breaking stigma, and promoting skin confidence is also equally important in our part of the world. So, she decided to carry both together. With various national and international supports, she had completed community awareness program like: awareness on tinea infection among the factory workers in eastern Nepal; awareness on sexually transmitted diseases among the school children. She had also organized free health camps for school children in many public schools. She has been actively promoting awareness on skin health through various social media.


Sanam Paudel

Sanam Poudel is a psychologist who completed her master’s degree in psychology from Tribhuvan University in 2003. Since starting her professional career in 2004, she has worked closely with street children and their families. These days, her work is more focused to addressing the psychological issues faced by sexually abused women and children, promoting their mental health through her work with various NGOs. Sanam has also been a strong advocate for mental health awareness in the media, emphasizing the critical importance of women’s and children’s mental well-being.


Dr. Samir Shrestha

Dr. Samir Shrestha completed his MD in Dermatology from the B.P. Koirala Institute of Health

Sciences, Dharan, in 2021. Following his postgraduate training, Dr. Shrestha served as a Consultant Dermatologist at Rapti Provincial Hospital, Tulsipur, Dang (January 2022 to January 2024). Two years at the government hospital in a remote setting in Nepal provided Dr. Shrestha with an opportunity to study the regional beliefs of people regarding remedies for various dermatological conditions and the malpractice of local health workers. He felt strong need of community awareness and relevant interventions in our society.


Dr. Sunidhi Aryal

Dr. Sunidhi Aryal is a Medical Officer at Budhanilkantha Municipal Hospital with over 7 years of experience in managing Emergency, Ward, and General OPD cases. Worked in many peripheral hospitals as Lieutenant Doctor in the Nepal Army. Licensed by Nepal Medical Council and GMC (UK), with a clinical attachment at Leicester Royal Infirmary, UK. Skilled in emergency care, ICU handling, leadership, and clinical teaching. She is actively involved in community healthcare, including medical camp and awareness programs across four remote villages of Nepal. Conducted women’s and child health education sessions to promote preventive care. 


Dr. Sarita Sitaula

Dr. Sarita Sitaula is an obstetrician and gynecologist. She completed her MD from one of the renowned medical college of Nepal-BPKIHS Dharan in 2015. Since the starting of professional career, she has worked as an assistant professor at BPKIHS till 2022. And currently working as a consultant in one of the community based hospital in the Kathmandu valley. As a part of profession and passion she has worked with various team and organization and has involved in community based health camps to provide the services to the needy and also, school health program specially related to sexual and reproductive health issues.


Dr. Prajwal Pyakurel

Dr. Prajwal Pyakurel completed his MBBS, MD (Community Medicine and Tropical Diseases) from B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan, Nepal. He is a visiting Lown Scholar for Cardiovascular Health Program at Harvard T.H. CHAN School of Public Health, Boston, MA, USA. He was a co-investigator for “Translational Research Capacity Building Initiative to Address Cardiovascular Disease in Nepal” funded by NHLBI, USA. He is the Chair of NCD Working Group, World Federation of Public Health Association, Switzerland. He runs own NCD and Mental Health Campaign in one of the urbanized communities in Central Nepal (Saraswatinagar, Kathmandu) where he is handling the Nepal chapter of Interventions in Communities to Encourage Health for All Impact Study. 


Dr. Pratikshya Pandey

Dr. Pratikshya Pandey is a public health professional dedicated to improving the health and well-being of communities through strategic, evidence-based interventions. She firmly believes that the health of every individual is a fundamental priority and that strong public health systems are key to building a healthier, more equitable society. She holds a Master’s degree in Public Health from Tribhuvan University and has completed the LIM:SEA 2024, postgraduate medical education from Harvard Medical School. A qualified Naturopathy doctor, her academic and professional journey reflects a strong commitment to continuous learning, global collaboration, and impactful leadership in the field of public health. She has extensive experience in developing and implementing community-based health strategies, coordinating health promotion campaigns, and overseeing large-scale public health initiatives. Her areas of interest include health system strengthening, policy advocacy, nutrition, health equity, and sustainable development. She is passionate about creating long-term, measurable change in public health outcomes—especially in resource-limited settings. With a strategic mindset, strong leadership, and a collaborative spirit, she works to bridge gaps between communities, institutions, and policymakers. She is grateful for every opportunity to contribute to meaningful health initiatives.
